Welcome to Maheu BrandSource Home Furnishings!

Our story

Omer Maheu started his business in 1896. Back then it was a general store, serving the needs of the surrounding farming communities. Today the Maheu store in Embrun draws customers from all over eastern Ontario.

In 1919 Omer moved his store to its present location at 1027 Notre-Dame street in Embrun. His sons Albert and Osias joined the business.

In 1949, Jean-Paul Maheu, son of Osias, went to work in the family business and changed its direction forever. Jean-Paul was interested in furniture and in the post-war years, the demand for furniture was high. Ever since the store has been place where you can find furniture and accessories for all the rooms of your home.

After more than a hundred years Maheu Countrywide is still a family business. The store is now managed and owned by Jean-Paul's daughter Suzanne Lemieux and son Jacques Maheu.
